The dates of the Israel IDEC in Tel Aviv are as announced: from April 6 to 13, but the organizers have managed to arrange very much reduced fees, given below.
They have also announced details of the tours for the last three days of the conference. Participants have to choose one of three – “The Northern Tour – Past gives rise to present,” “The Tour to Jerusalem – Education in Times of Conflict,” or “The Desert Tour – Making the Desert Bloom: When Vision Turns to Reality.” Full details are available at (broken link removed). All three tours sound fascinating, and the details are worth reading even if you are not able to go the conference.
Sheerly Hecht particularly invites anyone who is leaving school this year to join a special Open Space session to discuss their experiences. She would like to hear from anyone who would like to take part. Her email address is firstname.lastname@example.org
The Early Bird prices have been extended until Jan 31st.

The committee of past IDEC organizers was given the responsibility of choosing the site for IDEC 2011 because no decision had been made at a previous conference. They have sent out the following letter:
We are excited to announce that the 2011 IDEC will be held in conjunction with the EUDEC conference and hosted by Sands School (England)!Europe's turn in the IDEC rotation was approaching (Africa would have been, but no host was available). The EUDEC talked to us about the possibility of a joint conference. This would allow for a unified event hosted by long-time IDEC participants. After reviewing the guidelines set for hosts, Sands School stood alone as a potential host. While we prefer to have these decisions made at the IDEC two years in advance, there would not have been enough time to plan the event desired by the EUDEC and host. By previous agreement, the decision fell to us. For those interested in making a future proposal, be sure to attend the IDEC in Israel! Guidelines stipulate that you should attend the two prior conferences... We hope to see everyone in Israel!
Committee of Past IDEC Organisers
The above arrangements mean that there will be no EUDEC conference this year, but only an AGM, about which members will be duly informed.
